Procrastination ROCKS!

So basically right now I am doing anything and everything possibly to avoid writing ANOTHER paper for my psyche class! I love writing but this semester is beginning to make me HATE it and this particular paper I already feel like I've beat it to death because we have to write a section at a time and hand it in and now I am on sections four and five and I can't possible imagine what more I have to say about this subject. Hmmph. So while I am procrastinating I decided to post a few new pics! I had Spring break last week and we were able to fit in a few fun activities and head out to Oklahoma for four days as well to spend time with family...

Ok well there's been a change in plans! Blogger is refusing to upload anymore of my pictures so I guess that is a hint that it's time to write my paper so check back soon for OK pics and PS these above pictures were taken outside of my in-laws' beautiful home last Tuesday before Megan and Adam's wedding. I am so happy that Spring is on its way!

Oops I did it again...

Yep, I fell off the face of the blogging world AGAIN! What can I say but that right now life's tough and it's impossible to find time to even run to the bathroom let alone to blog!

I have to take a minute to say how grateful I am for the close friends going through the RN program with me because they are my saving grace and I don't know where I would be without them. There are so many days in my life right now where I have no idea which way is up but luckily I have these friends on my speed dial and they can set me straight anytime day or night. Love them. Lots.

People mean well when they call and ask how I've been but little do they know that these days my life consists of feeling like I am a D- mother, F+ wife and a B student...and that's on a GOOD DAY. I've hit a couple brick walls this semester I wasn't expecting but I'm trying my best and am getting through. There have been MANY times lately that I wanted to reach through the phone and slap someone when they ask why I haven't called lately....

It's hard being gone from my little family so much but I have a wonderful husband who is always so good to step in and pick up the slack these days and I can never tell him enough how much he means to me. Love him too.

On a positive note, I have already made it THROUGH midterms so luckily I am on a downhill slope and I can see my summer vacation right around the corner...and let's not forget that GRADUATION is in sight now too!!! It's about damn time too.

If you are thinking right about now that I don't sound like my usual self...well, you are absolutely right. I can only burn the candle from both ends for so long and I have about reached the end of my rope but I know I can do this and one day I will look back and forget the blood sweat and tears I went through and hopefully remember only the good times I had during school.

And hopefully when I am finished...these two boys will remember who I am and still love me too!

Family Week

No this post is not about Avalon's family week last week! The LAST thing I would blog about is work....BLAH!

This is about Stetson's school and the family week that they put on last week. Each family signed up for a 20 minute time slot and you could pretty much do whatever you wanted during that time but it had to somehow represent your family...so we chose to bring Stetson's current siblings AKA our dogs! Of course, to a 4 year old, it doesn't get any better than getting to bring your dogs to school with you!!

Stetson talked about his "job" at home which is feeding the dogs every day and how important it is for him to fill up their bowls when they are empty. He talked about how we drove "very very far away" to get Sassy and that we "took her away from her old home and brought her to her new home and called her Sassy Pants". He mentioned that Berkley is "really very old" and that Sassy is "our baby". The kids were so excited to play with the dogs and asked Stetson LOTS of questions and he was beaming from ear to ear with pride answering them!

Priceless.

Fall 2010

As I have said a thousand times before...FALL IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR! It feels like we every weekend we had some sort of fall festivity planned with family or friends and I relished it ALL! I also went to Frightmares for the first time this year which was fun but we had to leave and didn't hit up any of the haunted houses =(

My camera is nearing the end of its life and doesn't take pictures like it used to so I don't even bother taking it out at night anymore but here's some pics of the corn maze, American West Heritage Center, hanging out with Grandpa Reed, Stetson's 4 yr check-up and Halloween! I can't believe 2010 is coming to an end already!

The American West Heritage Center with Rhonda and Tayson!
The two boys steering the pirate ship

Jumping off hay bales and of course the day wouldn't be complete without a little sulking in the corn maze because we were LOST and STARVING....not a good combination when you have a 2 year old and 4 year old with you! Luckily they survived until we made it to Mickey D's!
Leading the way...It didn't matter who led though because we just walked in circles for over an hour and came back out the entrance.....can you say DEFEATED? Oh well, there's always next year!
Trick Or Treating with a wounded cub scout, Woody, Buzz, a princess witch and Jayzen (I can't remember for the life of me what his cute little costume was!)

Dad blowing up Buzz's wings before take-off and Buzz and Woody posing together for me =)
Stets wanted so badly to have Sassy in the picture with him but as you can see she was her usual hyperactive-on-crack self and is just a blur!
Stets is always worried about how Grandpa Reed is doing and if his leg is all better yet. I hate telling him day after day that Grandpa STILL needs crutches and this boot because it makes Stets sad. Oh well at least the boot is good for a little entertainment every once in a while =)
I took Stetson for this 4yr check-up in October. He is 97% for height and 75-80% for weight. This kid has been a long, lean bean pole since the day he was born. Skylar is 6' 2" and he severely hopes Stetson surpasses him in height but only time will tell! Stets still has his nagging seasonal allergies but other than that he is a healthy little boy! He got his Kindergarten shots at this appt and was such a TROOPER! I was so proud of him and now we don't have to do it next year!! The Dr. said he was impressed with Stetson's counting, verbal skills and creative thinking. Way to go my little man!
Looking back I have no idea where this year has gone but I know that next year will go even faster because I found out last week that I was accepted into the RN program which will start full-time in Jan and go until Dec. I will however have the Summer off which will be nice. I am already dreading the hustle and bustle my life will be once Jan 3rd rolls around but I am so very blessed to be able to pursue this dream of mine and WHAT DOESN'T KILL ME WILL ONLY MAKE ME STRONGER!

A few beach pics

I didn't take many pics of everyone at the annual Bear Lake Griffin family get together this year...my nose was in a textbook as I took my last final that morning before we headed over to the lake and I had a few assignments to wrap up before hitting the sack that night but what's new about that??

ANY-WHO it was a fun day. The usual games, great food and chillaxin' with the fam.

The three musketeers were buried in the sand and all was peaceful while they remained there!

It's pretty pathetic that those are the only pictures I have after spending an entire day at the beach! Oh well enjoy what few there are =)

Summer days

As I was driving through the canyon yesterday morning the bright orange leaves made it blatantly clear that Summer is on its way out for the year...and I couldn't be any happier about it!! I am much more of a Fall person myself. I live for haunted houses, pumpkin walks, squash soup and as ALWAYS me and Stetson are hitting the corn mazes starting this week =)

As happy as I am to kiss the 100 degree weather GOODBYE...there are things about Summer that I will miss. We did so much this year and made many lasting memories.

We went to Jackson Hole to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. This is where we ran into this fellow.
Oh and the fellow had a friend too...meet moose #2.
Skylar also had his first experience at authentic Sushi....YUMMY! Also in Jackson Hole.
We got a new puppy! Meet Sassy pants. I call her naughty pants and Skylar pretty much calls her whatever four letter word comes to his mind first! We love her anyways.
We did fireworks with friends...
and cookouts too... There is nothing better than having a fire pit in your own backyard. HELLO tinfoil dinners!
Stetson graduated from the first two sections of swimming lessons at the Sports Academy. He LOVED them!
Swimming parties with friends and family.
Sitting outside on a hot summer day with Popsicles and messy faces...priceless!
Friends came to play.
Nanny came to visit. Not just once, but twice!
We spent many afternoons at the zoo. We love the turtles. Even when they are doing the hanky panky! The turtles are always our favorite exhibit.
Never underestimate these muscles!
Memories are priceless. Summer seems to have flown by this year due to a crazy school semester for me, but looking back, we did take time out to stop and pay attention to what's really important....loved ones.

My TWENTY-TEN olympic athlete!

Stets reached a big mile stone this month...when he turned 4 he "GRADUATED" from the class of 3 year olds into the 4 year olds at school. To celebrate, all of the "GRADUATES" participated in the olympics all week long. The parents were invited to attend the closing ceremony and to watch all of the athletes get their medals which was so much fun!! I was so proud...I won't lie. Any accomplishment is important to me and I hope Stetson will ALWAYS know that!
The kids also made their own tye-dye shirts for the ceremony =)

Showing off his torch....
Wow he is growing up. Can't believe it. Love him LOTS!
