Go Skylar!!

We never put up any Christmas lights when we were living in an apartment so this year I was stoked to be in our own house and to have Christmas lights! Skylar was supposed to put up the lights on his parent's house this year because of a bet he lost last year and he NEVER did it so I wasn't sure what was going to happen with our own lights because he has been so busy! Well last Saturday I got up and went to town to meet my friend Jen for lunch and when I was looking for Sky to tell him I was leaving, I found him up on the roof putting up the lights. When I got back everything was finished and they look so good!! I'd like to say that he never complained but that would be a lie, however, he didn't complain near as much as I expected( he has an aversion to icicle lights)!! Love you Skylar!!

How we say THANKS

Last Sunday in Primary we had a really good sharing time on "Thanks Giving and Giving Thanks". It's funny how much I learn in Primary each week and I'm 23 years old!! The kids in our class teach me and Skylar so much and we love spending time with them.

Anyways, during the sharing time the lady asked if we show that we are thank you to Heavenly Father for things we are blessed with or if we say thanks...or both...or neither! Sometimes it's really hard to say exactly how you feel to someone for something they've done but it's not very hard to do something to show them that you appreciate it! It's easy to get busy with life and to feel grateful for something but to forget to tell that person thank you.

A couple years ago in Relief Society a lady gave a lesson on saying thank you and during that lesson she challenged us all to say one "Thank you" prayer a day. She said a "Thank you" prayer was a prayer in which you thanked Heavenly Father for all of your blessings and asked for NOTHING in return. It's easy to get sidetracked with life and to ask Him for anything and everything we can think of and even though they may be IMPORTANT things, we need to remember to Thank Him for everything we are already blessed with! I am SO thankful for everything we have in our lives. We may not have everything that we WANT but we have everything we NEED and we try to help others out when we can. Even though things are tight right now with medical bills, school and with work slowing down, we need to remember how much we do have and to always SHOW THANKS and SAY THANKS for our blessings!! I have a wonderful family, very dear friends and the best husband and little boy that I could ask for and I am VERY blessed.

Our morning Routine

I am SO SO glad that school is winding down and that me and Stetson will be able to sleep in more often!! He is such a little night owl and is NEVER asleep before 11p.m. and he is a little bear in the mornings!! I have been waking him up four days a week by 7:30a.m. and Skylar gets him up one day a week by 6:30a.m. for most of this year because of my school schedule and we are all tired of it!! As you can see in these pics, he is dead asleep on the floor and doesn't even budge when I take off his pajamas, change his diaper, put on his paints, socks, and shoes!! He is that tired every morning and I feel bad! We slept in today and he woke me up at 10!! We don't go to church until 11 so we are planning on sleeping in again tomorrow morning!! Yay--

Firefighter Stetsie part2

Back in early October I blogged about mine and Stetson's day hanging out with the fireman, learning to stop drop and roll and getting a once in a lifetime chance to climb all over the firetruck and even sit in the driver's seat and turn on the siren. Anyways, while we were there the kids were able to dress up in these cute little outfits and get their pictures taken! The pics were delivered to my house a couple of weeks ago but I just haven't posted them yet so here you go! Stetson did NOT want to take off the clothes, especially the boots and hat and pass them to the next kid. He had so much fun!!

I hope some of you have the time to sit down and do it before the time runs out!

PS-Oprah said this deal only lasted 48 hours after the show premiered yesterday but the snapfish website said it will go until Sunday night at midnight...

Dancing in the Rain

Well it's that time of year again where mud, slush, goop and other unwanted ick gets drug throughout the house on a daily basis and I wonder why I bother washing my floors at all anymore!! The downfall of not having a yard put in yet is M-U-D and right now the proof of that is all over my house! Stets, however, LOVES going outside and getting muddy up to his knees and elbows and then soaking in a nice warm bubble bath to clean off before bed. Here he is dancing in the rain in our drive way a few weeks back when we got our first winter rain/snow. He is going to be in heaven when the snow falls and actually sticks because when we go places where there is just a tiny bit of snow on the ground he goes crazy, "SNOW! BIG SNOW"!

Halloween '08

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween but we were really boring this year and we didn't do anything spooky or exciting! The most excitement we had was hitting the local trunk-or-treat in the church parking lot! I am not really a fan of trunk-or-treats because I think it takes most of the fun out of Halloween but it's perfect for the younger kiddos and it was fun to get out and see all the costumes and families from the ward. Stets was really scared of all the costumes at first so he just hung out underneath the tail gate of the truck! He eventually warmed up and got a few pieces of candy from people.

I just HAD to take a picture of this note that was on the front of Grandpa Mike and Grandma Cleo's door on Halloween! Most ppl wouldn't take the time and effort to leave a note like this on their front door and actually mean it! Cleo is WAY too ambitious to just leave a bowl of candy out for the kids to grab and go! What's Halloween without seeing all the cute costumes??
