To All You Rednecks Out There

It is almost MAY.....can you please take your Christmas lights down already?? I can call you all rednecks because I just FINALLY relieved us of that title when I climbed up on our roof yesterday and finished taking the rest of our lights down and this was after Stetson told me EVERY DAY for a week, "Mom take the lights down NOW!" So we are officially socially safe again...haha

As we were driving home yesterday afternoon, Stetson spotted FOUR houses with Christmas lights still up and he said every time, "Mom, they have to climb up there and get them off NOW!"

So there you have it! Take your lights down already!!

Here's a few pics I took of my little cutie the other day when the sun decided to come out for a bit!

What a cheese ball he can be....

Shopping with Stets--ALWAYS a joy...

Last weekend me and Stets headed to lunch with my friend Jen and we had FUN as always. Next time we get together, I am taking pics of US and not just Stets!! Jen lives about an hour away but we get together and hit our favorite Mexican joint for lunch a couple times a month when the weather is good. It's always good to see her and just relax. I have known her for MANY years...I think since 7th grade?? It's always nice to have a friend who knows you that good and doesn't judge you for anything you say or do. I love her and I can't wait to meet her little boy that is due this Summer. You guys will be WONDERFUL parents! He is one lucky little man.

After lunch we usually hit our favorite spot, Hobby Lobby, but last weekend we went in search of shoes instead. Not that I NEED any shoes, but Stetson sure did so naturally that was my excuse to go to the shoe store. After I found his sandals that he was getting, I was looking for shoes for myself when he decided to sneak off and start piling up as many DORA shoes as he could find!! He BEGGED me to get him a pair...lol

He also LOVED these orange sandals because he said, "They look like my orange shoes". Not really Stets...nice try though!

And here are his FAVORITE Dora shoes that he REALLY wanted. They are gold and light up when you walk. He thought that was pretty stinkin' cool. Sorry this pic is a little blurry but he was on the move!

This last picture has nothing to do with shoe shopping. I took it after church the next day just because we coincidentally matched in our orange outfits. I love you Stetson!!

More Easter 2009

Well it is almost midnight and my child is silently sleeping in the other room so I have a few minutes to post the rest of our Easter pics! I have to say I am VERY proud of my little man, he only got 4 hours of sleep last night and was really good for me when I pulled him out of bed at 5am this morning. Good job Stetsie and THANKS AGAIN to those who helped out with Stets today while I worked!!

This hunt took place at Roland and Michelle's house and it is a BIG production every year. Michelle goes all out every year and the kids look forward to it for months!
Here's Michelle with the highly anticipated eggs with money in them for the young adults! Every year it is an all out war for "gas money".
Here's my little man showing me his Tootie Fruitie he found that he was VERY proud of!
Three of the brothers....my wonderful husband is the one wearing the mismatched blue clothing (Love you Sky...)

This pic was taken as soon as the hunt started! Stets kind of panicked because there were to many ppl there so he went the OTHER way until the crowds thinned out.

Now on to the Town Easter Egg Hunt! You can't see his cheesy little face in this pic because his cherished Cardinals hat is way too big but it's still precious! I took this pic after I took one of him by the "0-1 year old" sign....then I realized YET AGAIN that my child is no longer that young....lol

Here's Grandpa Roly and Uncle Will holding baby Bridger. Everyone showed for the hunt and the weather wasn't too shabby as far as April weather goes around here!
Bryce wouldn't cooperate for the picture so here's Stetson and Timber just waiting in anticipation for the fun to start!!

Once again Easter has come and gone...I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday and enjoyed yourselves while remembering the real reason we celebrate Easter. Thanks for everyone who celebrated with us and made it enjoyable for Stetson once again.

Big Boy Bike!

I am interrupting the Easter posts to show you Stetson's latest accomplished milestone! We got him his first BIG BOY BIKE today. You should have seen his face light up when he saw it for the first time. He can barely touch the pedals but that doesn't stop him from cruising around the house. I spent about an hour with him inside the house teaching him how to pedal and when I felt like he was going to start taking out the walls with how fast he was going; we decided to take on the out doors! That didn't go as well to say the least. We went up to Grandpa Roly's house to ride bikes with Stetson's cousin Bryce. Stets had two pretty bad falls on the asphalt and one on the grass. Luckily he had his helmet and pads on so he didn't get so much as a scratch! Roland discovered the one training wheel was REALLY bent so he tried to fix it. These things are made of steel so it wasn't bent from Stets falling, it was just a bad wheel to begin with but I never noticed that in the store. I think it's much better now but Stets wants to stick to riding in doors for now...lol Hopefully he will feel like getting back on the bike and trying again tomorrow because he was doing SO good until he fell.

First experience "off roadin"
The ensemble wouldn't be complete without these stylish knee pads!

Easter....FINALLY

I am finally getting around to posting our Easter pics! We went to three different Easter hunts this year and Stets really had a good time at all of them. He has grown up so much and it is at times like these that I really notice it. After the first hunt, he knew what to do and how to do it and was keeping up with the best of them! Sorry I have been lacking in the blogging world lately but the program I usually use to get pics from my camera has crapped out on me and this new one that I am now using is supposed to be "nicer" but I hate it and it takes too long!! So that is why I have become quite the slacker lately...
Here are the two "huntees" AKA Landon and Etson. It's so cute to hear them talk to each other and actually understand what the other one is saying. Landon calls Stetson, "Etson".

Here's us moms with the two kiddos with all their loot! (The computer program being SO SO slow is also why there is red eye in some of these pics). Getting to this point has taken long enough so I am just going to post them how they are and fix them at Wal Mart when I print them!!

Here's cute little Landon after he found his little light thingy...
Stetson DOVE under the bed to get a couple eggs that were along the far wall. He decided this shortcut would be much faster!

After it was all said and done they both LOVED their Lightening McQueen cars that were filled with chocolate. These boys had a blast and they play really well together. Stetson is always talking about this friend Landon so we will have to get them together again soon! Oh and there will be pics to come of the other two hunts...just stay tuned.

I Uv Pa Reed

For those of you who don't speak "Stetson", then you probably have no idea what this title says! According to Stetson it says, "I love Grandpa Reed"! Stets is known for giving nicknames out to people and sticking with them. Skylar's parents are "Grandma Chelle and Grandpa Roly", but my parents have always been "Pa Reed and J.T." I guess he is a first name basis kind of kid. If you are wondering, yes, he still calls Skylar, "Skylar" and not daddy...but I am still mommy. Lol.
Last week I came to my parents house to hang out with them for the evening and I was EXHAUSTED! It had just been one of those days. I was trying to get Stetson to go to sleep but he refused to lay by me. Well my dad came down the stairs and Stets ran and jumped up on his lap immediately...and passed right own within just a few minutes.

When I asked Stetson later that night if he slept on Grandpa Reed's lap he said, "Yeah. I Uv Pa Reed".

My Little Make-up Artist

Stets has this FASCINATION with helping me with my make-up in the mornings. Sometimes he puts it on himself too, but usually he just wants to help me. Obviously I don't want him anywhere near me with the black eyeliner he so generously placed all over his cute little fast in these pics. What would I do without my little helper? Oh and I took the plunge and dyed my hair dark again. When Stetson saw it for the first time he didn't say anything at all. Later that night when I asked him if he liked mommy's hair he said, "Don't do it black mommy. Don't put black on your hair!" I have tried to tell him it is brown and not black, but he doesn't agree with me at all on this one!

Grimy Little Helping Hands

When Stetson was in Vegas with my sis a few weeks back he decided to help her out by handing her her cell phone. He was just being a "big helper" but her phone never worked again after that due to his wet icky hands! She was without a phone for a few weeks...

The saga continues...as I was getting ready to leave for work earlier tonight Stets runs into the bedroom and says, "Here your phone Mommy. Your phone is wet!" Hmm.... It wasn't wet 30 seconds ago while I walk talking on it! However, thanks to his grimy little "helping" WET hands...my phone is now in the condition my sister's was. I have to admit I was shocked when she told me her phone quit working just from that. I lost a phone last year in the snow where it stayed for about 2 months until I found it when the snow melted AND IT STILL WORKED! I thought for sure Stets had put her phone in the toilet and she just didn't know! Apparently I was wrong because I watched him pick my phone up and bring it to me...and now I am unable to do absolutely anything with it. I can see who is calling and if you are LUCKY I can answer.

So if you need me in the next few days please call Skylar's phone (we don't have a land line) or leave me a msg because I will still check those. I work all day Monday so I doubt I will have a new phone until late Monday night or sometime Tuesday afternoon. If you don't hear from me please don't think I have fallen off the face of the earth...

Thanks and watch out for all of you with little helpers at home!
