They'll survive!

I am taking off for two days and leaving my boys to fend for themselves! I wish the two day trip was a fun family vacation or a hot and saucy weekend with Skylar, but unfortunately, it's a conference for school. Am I looking forward to 16 hours of hanging out and listening to FASCINATING lectures? Nope, but it's mandatory so I hope to make the best of it! If any one's in the neighborhood later in the week, do you mind stopping by and making sure the house hasn't burned down?? Lol. Actually the most likely scenario while I am gone is lots of playing, spot lighting for deer, bike rides, 4 wheeler rides...etc. and VERY little cleaning, sleeping, bathing...you know, the stuff that mom enforces! Hopefully my little absence will make them realize what I do around here. Actually, Skylar is very appreciative of almost everything I do. I still don't know how I got such a wonderful husband! Maybe Stets will realize what mommy does and miss me.
I snapped these pics tonight while my boys were playing around in the shower... Who can resist that toothy grin?

I thought I'd share some of Stetson's "creative" little comments he's come up with lately. He has amazed me on how fast he is learning to speak in sentences. After I sent him to time-out last week he said, "DON'T HIT ME CHELSEY!!" umm...all I did was SEND him to time-out. NO hitting was involved PERIOD and when did I become CHELSEY?? Lol. Yesterday after Sacrament meeting I told him we were going to nursery and he said, "I'LL CRY! I'll CRY MOM". I think that was his first official threat.

See what I mean by creative? Oh and he has to look at the back of the newspaper EVERY DAY and see the picture of the moon below the weather information. Well you can imagine his horror today when the black box was empty...and no moon was found outside tonight upon our searching! It wasn't there ANY of the ten times we looked! WHAT NERVE of the man in the moon to upset my child like that.

Fun in the Sun

Ok so we weren't really out having a good time when this pic was taken, but we were still having a nice break from clinical and enjoying the sun! Even though I take pics of everyone in class for the video at the end of the year, I will not put anyone on my blog to embarrass them!! I think the video will be embarrassing enough when you see some of the pics I got! Love you guys-- Anyways, here's me and Haylee hanging out as the Hazmat crew sets up the tent due to an incident that could have required people showing up at the hospital for a good foam down to clean up the oil spill. Luckily, no one was doused and this only ended up being for practice!

Cabin Fever Crazies

I think we all went a little crazy while our household was on 72 hour lock down over the weekend. I was actually relieved to get back to school and what not yesterday morning! As you can see, Stets had to get a little creative to kill the time...Yes, that is baby lotion...and Yes, that is my child's face! Lol.
Stets has recently discovered the moon and has become quite obsessed with keeping track of it at every possible moment during the day. Our day now revolves around the whereabouts of "DA MOON MOMMY"..."WHERE DA MOON GO NOW"? Oh, and how many full moons can you count in this pic? =)

PSSST

I had some cute pics I wanted to post tonight, but the night got away from me and I am ready to hit the sack! We had a long, miserable weekend but it's over now and I'm looking forward to the rest of the week. Me and Skylar BOTH got what Stetson had and we spent the weekend holding down the couch. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this tid bit and hopefully I can post those pics
tomorrow...and THANKS to all the sweet comments from everyone telling us to get better!!

3am wake-up call!

Here's Stets putting on a happy face even when he's miserable! What a little trooper I have.

I woke up at 3 in the morning today to what every parent dreads! A fevered, miserable, throwing-up child AND what every nursing student dreads...it's the night before an early morning clinical. Well, when your child is sick, there's not much you can do about it at this point. I got out the towels and blankets and sat down on the couch for what was a VERY long few hours. By 5:30am, I had already done 3 loads of laundry and ALMOST had Stets back to sleep. He was drinking a very small amount and his fever was controlled. I woke-up Skylar and asked him to sit with him so I could sleep until 6:15 when my alarm was going to go off. Skylar knew I only had 4 hours of sleep at that point and had a long day ahead of me so being the great husband/daddy that he is, he did it. I'm not sure if that last 45 mins of sleep was a good idea or not, because I definitely wanted to throw the d*** alarm clock out the nearest window when it went off!! Skylar had to spend the day at home taking care of Stets, and as soon as I got home, Skylar went to work for a few hours. All I have to say is TGIF--and hopefully our household will be recovered by Monday morning.
I bought him this dinosaur coloring book at the store today when I picked up juice. He's been so good all day in spite of everything!

Happy Birthday Dad!

August brings a rush of birthdays in our families, and not far behind is my dad's birthday in September. His actual birthday is Sept 2nd, but we celebrated over last weekend! We did a whole shabangin' party because he's high maintenance you know! Ok, so we didn't do anything and every year he tells us kids NOT to get him anything! Like usual, I didn't listen and we got him a pair of Skecher sandals. Guess what? He actually likes them! Happy Birthday Dad AKA "Crampa Reed". Oh and Stetson thought the gift wrapped package was his, and he also thought the shoes were a perfect fit because he wore them around for the evening. I have to add, that I didn't pick out the pink wrapping paper just for him...I wrapped the gift at my mom's house and she said I could use any paper I could find. I didn't find anything with "Happy Birthday" on it so I did her a favor by using up the ugliest paper she had left in there! You're welcome, mom!
